Expose the “Haman” in Your Life

Did you know that one sleepless night has the power to rescue you from your plight?

The Book of Esther in the Bible tells us the story of Esther, King Ahasuerus, Haman and Mordecai. Two years after Queen Vashti was deposed, Esther became the wife of King Ahasuerus and queen in Vashti’s place. Then, two years after Esther’s enthronement, the wicked Haman prevailed upon the king to order the destruction of all the Jews in his empire. Haman had great wrath against Mordecai, who was a Jew like Queen Esther. Haman’s plan, however, backfired.

The king had a sleepless night and because of this, he called for records preserved in the royal archives. After reading about the plot to end his life and of how Mordecai helped to prevent it, King Ahasuerus felt that Mordecai was worthy of honor and reward. The king’s sleepless night resulted in Mordecai’s promotion to high office, the exposure of Haman’s dark and devilish plot, the preservation of a nation, and the hanging of Haman and his sons on the gallows Haman had prepared for Mordecai!

This extraordinary story of divine vindication tells us that one sleepless night has the power to rescue people from their plight. There may be a “Haman” or two in your life right now that wants to destroy your momentum. But by the hand of God, someone is losing sleep over you because they are wrestling with the fact that your “Haman” wants to derail you from your rightful place!
