Don’t be Lazy

Laziness at work is a violation of the 8th commandment. When able bodied men laze around instead of doing all they can to work, they are robbing their employers of wages that they do not deserve. They are taking advantage of their employers.

In Colossians 3:23, it is written: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men” while Proverbs 18:9 states: “Whoever is slack in his work is a brother to him who destroys.”  The Bible is clearly against laziness. God wants His people to labor as honest men.

Being lazy at work is a deceptive means of acquiring wealth for services or labor that you did not adequately provide. It is a form of theft. If you do not want to violate the 8th commandment, ensure that you are delivering the work expected from you by your employers.
