We Can’t Go Solo

There is a famous saying that goes, “no man is an island.” The race of men is one full of social responsibilities and diversity. Even if you may be an introvert, or the kind of person that doesn’t have a lot of friends due to personal choice or not, you still need other humans in your life.

Human interaction is the main factor of growth. We learn a lot of things through books and through self discovery, but if you think about it, who are you discovering things for? Why do you need to grow?

It is our divine heritage to be able to contribute to each individual we come across with or even just the ones dearest to us. Especially in the church, one man cannot run a church by himself. God has given each person a divine role and responsibility that one must develop through faithful service.

“Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles?” (1 Corinthians 12: 27-29)

This passage speaks of the body of Christ. The representatives of Jesus Christ on earth are those who believe in Him and have entered a covenant to follow Him.

No role in the church is too big or too small. Even if you’re singing in the choir or leaping in the congregation, you are important. God needs you to be where you are and He wants you to walk with Him as He continues to bless and provide our needs temporally and spiritually.

His love knows no bounds, but we must be willing to keep our part and worship Him, sing Him praises and live our lives the way He would want us to. Whatever your role is in a play, if you play it well, then the story goes on to its happy ending for everyone. Act your part!
