“You shall serve the Lord your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you. None shall miscarry or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. I will send my terror before you and will throw into confusion all the people against whom you shall come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivites, the Canaanites, and the Hittites from before you. I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the wild beasts multiply against you.” (Exodus 23:25-31 KJV)
False prophets are out to deceive each one of us. Their main goal is to falsify the Christian doctrine. Money and wealth are the subjects they use to tempt people and turn their backs on the truth of Christ.
As Christians, trials and struggles are inevitable in our spiritual journey. These trials are part of the testing of our faith. Sadly, many believers find it hard to surpass these obstacles. One reason is that, they easily give-up and turning to temptation of Satan is the easiest thing to do. Christianity is not at all a “bed of roses”. It is totally not about having a smooth-sailing journey. Many times along the way, you will encounter disappointments and challenges. Also, your patience and commitment will be put to the test.
The story of Ruth is one of the stories which will tell us how the lack of patience and commitment opens up temptations. It was God who gave Ruth to Naomi. The Scripture says, “Your God shall be my God.” God was pleased with Ruth and for Him, Naomi owed the amazing love of her daughter-in-law. Ruth left her home to follow and serve Naomi. God was plotting Naomi’s impediment into joy even when she was unaware of His plans.
Ruth was a remarkable example of the grace of God in our lives. We just need to trust in His grace that even when the roads are vague, there is an ultimate being whom we can call on anytime of the day. Let us be reminded that the highest being whom we can call is definitely God. Let us remind ourselves that the commitment and patience we are giving result to getting rewards from the Lord.
Your faith and commitment to God should not waver when you truly accept Him in your life. A relationship will not easily be destroyed when you trust your partner and you love him unconditionally. Do not be tempted by false encouragements. Always be on guard. Ask for God’s seal and protection.
Life here on earth is temporary. The only lasting treasure is in heaven. God is testing your faith. He gives abundant blessings to those who continuously establish a relationship with His Son. Scriptures says, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)
